Residence Addition & Remodeling |
|

|
The
Kaufman residence addition was built to provide a three room addition
for a college professor , and his wife, a nurse. Their family includes
three children, two which are grown and in their 20's and one ten
year old still living at home. The addition which added a total
of 518 feet to the home brings additional space for entertaining
both family and other faculty in the large 18'x18' family room.
The ceiling brings the illusion of space reaching up to 20' at its
peak and features two skylights. The room steps down and features
a working fireplace, and t.v. entertainment unit. The new bath and
bedroom are adjacent to the new family room and are provided access
through the family room on the raised step platform dividing the
entertainment area. The exterior is expressed in light colors, with
siding in ivory and wood trusses which are left as natural. The
addition has a base of face brick and a curving partial height wall
which wraps around and allows a semi-private patio area. |
